I usually use metal tweezers, but always keep the sharp tip away from the battery.. Using the back the tweezers and lifting it from the battery edges (to keep the edge of the metal away from harm) usually helps a lot Electrical cleaner helps a lot too😁

I once cut some batteries with scissors. It was flat. A few minutes it burst into flames on camera. So always make sure your battery gets recycled, or if you destroy it, make sure it’s totally destroyed before putting it in a bin! Also I had leather gloves on and it was in a trash bin lid
