Man, thanks a million for the dog cage test! That's exactly my situation, having a large dog. Seems my son's stroller could still fit next to the cage, which would be just perfect. I'll be shortlisting the ID.4 and the Enyaq.

Without FSD, I don't see why I would want this over the Tesla.

The only reason the dog box actually fitted in was because it had sloped sides, making less space for the doggie! With a standard rectangular dog box, you would have to fold part if the rear seat.

Most dog boxes are sloped because they are designed to fit in cars.

This was a great introduction to the ID 4, The thing that will be interesting to see is if the traction control is as fast acting as the Tesla, meaning you don't really need the AWD model if you have good winter tires. Or will it be also like the Tesla where you get better range with the AWD compared to just RWD? I look forward to your first drive when they are available. Keep up the good work, love your long range tests. It makes me more comfortable about looking at buying my first EV when I need to replace my current vehicle

I must say, the ID4 is mighty impressive. Already it runs ⭕ around the ID3. Definitely a massive improvement over the ID3. I would rather spend my money on the ID4.

Can anyone tell me whether the ID 4 has climate control options for when parked, like Tesla's Dog and Camping modes? I am leaning towards buying an ID 4 over a Tesla, but if I can't keep the interior a constant temperature for hours at a time while parked, it will be a deal breaker for me.

On a positive note it doesnt have the white steering wheel but its a Vw so itll go wrong.. Also whats the story with those stupid window switches??? 4 windows..4 switches

I will wait for the touch review. Take off the mask and show your smile. You only wear the mask if you have a infectious virus, or know the person around you does, otherwise you are unfairly saying everyone is guilty and infectious with no proog and a 99.987 recovery if they do So I will not watch again until you stop assuming everyone is infectious. And if they are big deal, the regular flu is far more deadly and there are no mask mandates for that.

I have a pre-order for ID.4 and I am excited about the vehicle. HOWEVER (and a big caveat), I live in the cold upper midwest. It seems like Canadian ID.4 will get a heat pump, but it won't be coming to the USA. Full stop -- I will remove my pre-order and I will *not* buy without a heat pump, due to a big hit in expected electric range in winter driving. Please like (thumbs up) and comment below, especially if you are also a reservation holder. Lets make VW take notice & reconsider. Please include an option for the heat pump for the US!!

Any ideas about the seats? I test drove an ID.3 today but wasnt thrilled about the seats. They feel very basic but beside that my back hurt after the test drive. Does the ID.4 have better seats? Or just a different design?

The rear door is pretty weird as it's not "flat". The car has more of a coupe style hatch opening, yet the door extends the space into itself. Quite an interesting solution. 👍

The disc's on my Passat GTE dies due to Rust and low usage due to recuperation each second year...would like to have drum brakes even for my Passat, too.

Since EVs brake with Recuperation the rear brakes are seldom used and die due to rust after short time...driving only a Passat GTE Plugin which recuperates as well and the disc's needs replacement after each second year...only due to Rust, too.

Will the infotainment system upgraded from ID3? ID3 has horrible user interface.

ID 3 (maybe less, because e.g. of its poor haptics quality or disadvantages like the gap near the “initial” gear-box) BUT ID 4 could become the next BIG “VOLKSWAGEN”. In German it means: An usual, useful car (especially in points like space) for the broad public of people, you can get for an affordable amount of money.

Beautiful exterior ! Better than tesla for me. But interior color of seats is ugly. I really hope id4 will reach 500km. About efficiency, I am quite confident that the ID4 will be comparable to ID3 which is very good, even when compared to champion Tesla... I might prefer VW when I will buy such a car in max 18 months. Price competition will most probably decide between model Y and ID4.

I am so far really impressed on how it looks and practicality. As others have mentioned, I am not concerned at all about the 0-60 times. As long as it can move within a respectable speed in a crunch, then I'm fine. Trying to drag a mustang or other sports cars... not for me or most people who are looking for vehicles like the ID4. What's interesting is how the Model Y and some other Tesla models lately seem to have fit quality issues straight from factory. I've seen too many videos of people picking up their car and showing all the errors and smile about it. I would never go to buy from an automaker that has such issues. I guess it's for bragging rights. I'm sure they'll improve though... hopefully.

One arrives the destination before satnav boots up :) id.4 fixes lot of shortcomings of id.3, and looks higher quality. Hope these improvements will come also down to id.3 in next iteration .
